Reminder for All of Us

A reminder to me in the first place and then to you all:

Imam Ali Says: It is easier not to sin in the first place than to ask for Allah's forgiveness after committing a sin.

Why do you think this might be the case?

  1. Although my motto is the exact opposite, where if you commit the sin and then ask for forgiveness, at least then you got to do what you wanted to do ;=)..., I think Imam Ali is saying here as he said in Duaye komeil that sins have an effect and do not allow a person to rise. In other words, it's not that easy to ask for forgiveness, sin leads to more sin and to break the cycle is not just one simple esteghfar. We had discussed this before where if we head downhill, even after we pass on, we will continue to head downhill, and to really make that turn is possible, but like running uphill, going to take some dedication.
